Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how RideShell ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit rideshell.co.uk or place an order. RideShell is a sole trader trading as RideShell — a UK maker of 3D-printed protective cases for Garmin zūmo motorcycle GPS. These notes are plain-language information for a small UK trader; they are not formal legal advice.

What data we collect

When you buy from us we typically process:

• Order details — product configuration (model, case type, colour, mount fit, optional extras), quantities and amounts paid.
• Contact and shipping details — name, email address, shipping address and phone number where you provide them at checkout.
• Payment references from Stripe (for example payment intent or charge IDs). We do not store full card numbers or CVV on RideShell servers; card data is handled by Stripe.
• Basic technical data needed to run the site (for example IP address in hosting/server logs).

Payments — Stripe

Checkout and card payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe acts as a payment processor and has its own privacy policy. RideShell receives confirmation that payment succeeded, order metadata needed for fulfilment, and limited payment references — not your full card details.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics on this site. It is designed as a privacy-friendly analytics product for understanding aggregate page traffic. It is not used by RideShell for advertising personalisation or building marketing profiles of individual visitors.

Cookies and similar technology

Essential cookies and similar storage may be used so checkout (Stripe) and the site can function securely. We do not run third-party advertising trackers for personalised ads on this storefront.

Why we use your data (legal bases)

• Contract — to take payment, make and ship your made-to-order case, and communicate about your order.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the site secure, prevent fraud, improve the shop in aggregate, and keep business records that we reasonably need.
• Legal obligation — where tax, accounting or consumer law requires us to keep certain records.

Retention

We keep order and customer contact records for as long as needed to fulfil the order, handle returns or queries, and meet accounting and legal record-keeping needs. When records are no longer required we delete or anonymise them where practical.

Who we share data with

We share only what is needed for the purpose:

• Stripe — payments and checkout.
• Email and shipping carriers / postal services — to send order messages and deliver parcels.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers (including Vercel) — to run rideshell.co.uk and related services.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers (for example Stripe or cloud hosting) may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, those providers typically rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms under applicable data protection law.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to certain processing, and to data portability where it applies. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.

Children

RideShell products and this website are aimed at adults purchasing motorcycle GPS accessories. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this page from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you should read the revised policy.
